The Ghanaian capital, Accra has been overwhelmed by some of the biggest names in African football ahead of the Glo-CAF Awards Gala.
The personalities ranging from active footballers, ex-footballers, administrators and coaches from all walks of life are in the land of the four-time African champions to witness and add colour to the coronation of the foremost footballer on the continent.
The Glo-CAF Awards 2012 Awards Gala will be held in Thursday, March 20 at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra
The arrival of the personalities has been the talk of town amongst football fans, serving a perfect starter for the main Awards Gala.
Leading the pack of officialdom is CAF President, Issa Hayatou arrives on Tuesday evening in some members of the CAF Executive Committee and the CAF Secretariat.
For the footballers, Ghana legend Abedi Pele, Anthony Baffoe, Anthony Yeboah, Abdul Karim Razak (Golden Boy), Ibrahim Sunday among others constitute the local legion expected to grace the event.
Also, expected are former Super Eagles captain Stephen Keshi, Cameroon hero Rigobert Song amongst others.
However, the spotlight on the likes of Ivorian pair, Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, as well as Cameroonian Alexander Song, contenders for the flagship honour, African Footballer of the Year award.
Accra is playing host to the Awards Gala for an unprecedented fourth time after 2006, 2009 and 2011.
